Say WHAT?

When people see a pregnant woman who's just found out that she's having another boy or girl, is it so hard to say, "That's wonderful! Congratulations and I hope you have a healthy baby!"

Then how come when I tell people I'm having another girl, I get a look of sympathy? Or I'm told that we're "in for it" because we'll have two teenage girls with raging hormones. Or THEY were hoping we'd have a boy.

I'm sorry our sperm and egg's uniting did not result in an opposite gender sibling of the child we already have. I'm sorry some may think it "cliche" to say we really just want healthy children, regardless of gender?

Guess I'm a little grumpy because it has not only been friends and family, but perfect strangers who seem displeased with the results of our sonogram. Displeased with this precious gift from God!

So, I'm making a mental note (I know, making a mental anything during pregnancy is dangerous) to have a more sensitive reaction to women during pregnancy. Unless they are smoking. Then it is ON.

We aren't finding out what we're having, so I don't get those comments (they'll come after the baby is born). I do, however, get "I bet you're hoping for a girl" or "Aren't you afraid it'll be another boy?" No, I'm not. Boys are fun. A girl would be great, but as long as it is happy, who cares!? :)

Congrats on your pregnancy by the way!

just so there is no confusion, i am ELATED about you having a girl. i think that is precious and bella is going to have so much sassy stuff to teach her!

mostly, i am just relieved that i don't have to figure out how to spell niecphew anymore.

ARE you serious? It means that Bella will have a sister, and how great is THAT! People just don't understand that this is your child and not just a coffee break conversation topic!
This lady I work with who goes to my church was mortified I had even said the word pregnancy to her. I might as well have said 'Guess what! I had sex with my husband....and his sperm and my egg got it on and...I'm pregnant!

Little girls are great...

Love them... Micker Mackers kisses are the BEST.

Bug Bug's are good too. ;)

Besides that... boy's don't like nicknames like Micker Mackers and Bug Bug.

I've noticed boys are called "Boy", "Little Man" or something else masculine and not cutsie.

Bella has so many nicknames, she answers to just about anything. Unless you are officially on IGNORED.

There were 3 of us girls growing up and it was great! I wouldn't trade either one of them for a brother. Congrats on the girly!
Besdies, there is way cuter stuff for girls, and plus you can reuse all the clothes and things you already have. Anyway, girls are great!

Congratulations on the little girl. I have not two, but three of them (and one boy). Some people are just idiots.

And pregnantladies smoking? Grrrrrr! Or drinking.

I think its awesome. You are so blessed to have two girls. I am pregnant with my second I already have a girl and I so badly want another girl. I am the opposite as you because I am hoping so so much for another girl. I hope to be in the same boat as you when I find out in a couple weeks!

I was kind of hoping for another little girl so my daughter would have a best friend ...

And if I were to get pregnant again (highly doubtful) I would wish to have another boy so my son could have a best friend.

It seems like good logic to me ...?

You would get envious looks from me. I have one daughter and 4 boys. I love them all, but girls are girls. Enuf said.

Have a wonderful, happy pregnancy.

Everyone around me has an opinion to what I'm having (most think I'm having another boy) except for me. But I'm all about having a healthy baby...that's all that matters to me!

Btw, I've tried to give my son cutsie nicknames...he gets called Bubba, Suga-Boy, and Sweetness to name a few (there are like 100 more! Heehee!!!)

Some people are ridiculous. Little girls are SO much fun, and a little sister is such a gift to Bella- I would be lost without my sisters.
