The Beginnings of My Halloween Costume

Today Ava is three weeks old. On one hand, I can hardly believe! On the other hand, it seems she's been here alot longer. Well, visible, anyway :)

Not only is every pregnancy different, every delivery and every baby...apparently you can get a whole new set of issues with your hormones! Along with a reaction to the steri strips, I also had a reaction to my former friend, Vicodin. I was hosting my own Itchy Scratchy show.

Then Saturday, I woke up to this...

Those are not wax lips. They are mine, blown up about 3 times their normal size. Let me just say that I panicked slightly when I looked in the mirror at 3:35am after changing Ava's diaper. I rushed in to my husband, telling him to get up quick! He grabbed his glasses and leaped out of bed to kill the burglar.

When he saw me in the light, did he show great concern? No.

He handed me a Benadryl capsule, a frozen teething ring, kissed my forehead and stumbled back to bed.

I show you the above picture because 1) I do not know most of you in person and 2) my sister has already seen and laughed.

So as not to leave you with such a scary sight, how about this:

Okay. Your lips are freakin' hysterical.

I'm so sorry. I hope they're back to normal.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Whew!
Who needs botox when you have vicodin?
I say keep the lips around long enough for Halloween!

Yeah, I was going to say in the momsquared vein that people pay big money to get lips like that. You should have counted it a blessing!

WOW!!
It's too bad that old friends can treat us so badly when we need them the most!
I hope it gets better for you soon!

If Angelina Jolie had a reaction like that she wouldn't be able to get through a door. Just don't show your lips to any plastic surgeons...they'd hunt you down!

Thanks for the support, everyone. Really.

I think I look like a duck-billed platypus.

The lips are better now. Husband isn't as scared.

Oh, man--come late to the blog and everyone else beats you to the Angelina Jolie comments.

The resemblance is uncanny, though.

Maybe you are related to Angelina Jolie?

I'll leave commenting on the pic of you to the others. But as for that baby, great good lord, is she adorable!

Oh Jennboree...lol LOL LOL. Ok. I didn't mean to laugh, but ha ha h aha ha a. *snort*

I am sorry you have such a reactiopn to vicodin.

What about Good old motrin. It worked for me, all 800mg of it when I weight 155 pounds. Ask your doc about it...and also that Vitamin E capsule for the itch. Worked for me 7 months ago.
